I am a sour gum.
I am soft, I admit it. There are many times that people take advantage of this and push me around. But I am not brittle. I am just tough enough when the going gets hard.
I have jelly-like flexibility. I can be pulled in many different directions and still keep it together.
I am sweet and sour at the same time. I’ve got my eyes wide open. I have sweetness to tell me that there are a lot of small wonderful things in life that need appreciating. And I have sourness to remind me otherwise.
Versatility is a must trait and so I come in a variety.
I am often misunderstood. I do not look like much (other than another branch of the sweets family) but I often surprise people when they get to know me better.
I’d like to think that everybody likes me but the truth is I’m an acquired taste. I learnt early in life that I cannot turn into a chocolate just because everybody wants one. I can only be the sour gum that I am.
A sour gum. Indeed.
