Who Would've Guessed? Councillor Rodriguez!

My eldest recently volunteered to run for councillor at her high school. Out of over 50 students in her grade who offered to be of service, she was voted to be 1 of 9 junior councillors. Quite a mean feat for her age (and size), nevertheless we are extremely proud of her. Well done!

A ceremonial induction of the councillors was held at the school, where they were sworn into "office" for the coming year. There was a handing over of duties and responsibilities, and official signing to abide by the code of conduct. (Code of conduct? And my eldest? What in the world....?!?)

For now, she has only been assigned tuck shop duties.

But hey! Today, it may only be the high school canteen.....tomorrow, who knows, it may be the world!
Here she is showing her new councillor badge

It is so great when your kids accomplish something. It has to be so satisfying to see your daughter go for something on her own and win! Good job mom, and congrats to your daughter!
